With a history that dates back 145 years, today the town of Parker is one of the fast-growing communities in the country with more than 48,000 people. Ranked number 26 on CNN/Money´s Best Places to Live, Parker boasts a highly educated population with average household incomes that exceed most of the Denver metro area. Located 20 miles southeast of Downtown Denver, Parker is located entirely in Douglas County where the average price of real estate ranges from $166,751 for a condominium to $346,984 for a single-family home.

Pradera is one of Parker´s newest golf communities featuring semi-custom and custom luxury homes on several acres, ranging in price from the $500s to the millions. Built on rolling hillsides, open space and miles of trails frame the community and the "Irish links" 18-hole golf course designed by Jim Engh. Along with the golf course, the Club at Pradera offers numerous amenities and year-round activities. The master-planned community of Meridian Village, located between Parker and Lone Tree, offers numerous styles of affordable single-family homes starting in the $240s.

No matter their location in Parker, residents often gather throughout the year during special community events including the Parker Country Festival, the Taste of Parker and others produced by the Parker Cultural Commission. With access to light rail, I-25 and E-470, it´s easy to live, work and play close to home. One of the area´s major employers, Parker Adventist Hospital, features numerous services and specialties and a branch of The Children´s Hospital.

Parker School Information

Children in Parker attend schools in the Douglas County School District, guided by a mission "to provide an educational foundation that allows each student to reach his or her individual potential."

Douglas County students have outperformed the state in every grade and every subject tested by the Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP). On the most recent State Accountability Report, 86 percent of Douglas County schools achieved a high or excellent rating - the best in the Denver metro area. Comprehensive high school programs in sports, music, forensics, marketing, business and journalism have earned state and national recognition. Coupled with its well-researched and integrated curriculum, Douglas County credits its teachers with making a difference. Nearly half of the district´s 3,000 teachers have their master´s or other advanced degrees.
