Home to 103,000 residents, the city of Centennial is one of the newest in the Denver metro area. Located entirely within Arapahoe County, Centennial is adjacent to the cities and towns of Aurora, Englewood, Foxfield, Greenwood Village, Highlands Ranch (unincorporated Douglas County), Littleton, Lone Tree, and Parker. Real estate in Centennial includes homes in both suburban and semi-rural neighborhoods. On average, Centennial homes for sale cost $190,907 for a condominium to $298,506 for a single-family home. Two of Centennial´s well-known neighborhoods include: The Homestead, where the average price for a single-family home costs $587,125 and Heritage Greens where the average price for a single-family home is $604,197.

Considered the seventh largest city in the Denver metro area, Centennial is comprised of 36,200 households and encompasses 28.34 miles. Despite its size, citizens are working side-by-side with city officials on daily efforts and in planning for the future. The Centennial Youth Commission established the Mayor´s Youth Corp to create more community service opportunities. The "Our Voice. Our Vision. Centennial 2030 Project" consists of four sub-committees designed to study City Services, Economic Health, Quality of Life and Environment. Through its duration, Centennial will collect input from the groups to determine the needs and desires of residents over the next two decades.

The city´s focus on community is evident in the amenities that residents enjoy, including the new Streets at SouthGlenn, a lifestyle destination center with sidewalk cafés and local and national retailers, including Denver flagship stores for Barnes & Noble and Whole Foods (now open). The new urban mixed-use center, expected to be a major economic catalyst for the area, will be accented by pedestrian plazas and promenades featuring European fountains, with plans for festivals, an outdoor ice skating rink and other community events. Wireless access is available throughout the property along with 140,000-square feet of professional space - making working and playing here more convenient.

Outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing and camping at Cherry Creek State Park, and nearby parks and open space, playgrounds, convenient trails and recreational facilities with programs to serve a variety of needs provided by South Suburban Parks and Recreation. Active in enhancing the recreational experience, South Suburban has also worked to acquire parcels of land along the South Platte River corridor to seclude it from commercial development, preserve wildlife habitat, improve water quality and enhance the trails and open space for users.

When transportation is needed, a comprehensive system made up of Light Rail, bus service and "Call-n-Ride," and easy highway access on C-470 make it easy to get downtown and Denver International Airport as well as destinations farther south. Centennial Airport has also called Centennial home for 42 years, and offers transportation to 32 of the top 100 Fortune companies.

Centennial School Information

The city of Centennial is comprised of Cherry Creek School District and Littleton Public Schools. More than 43,000 students are enrolled in Cherry Creek School District, the fourth-largest in the state, and one of the top-performing in Colorado. Several schools in the district have been recognized by 5280 Magazine as "Denver´s Top Schools," based in part, on graduation rates, the Colorado Department of Education´s school accountability rankings and standardized test scores.

Approximately 16,000 students in Grades K-12 attend Littleton Public Schools (LPS). LPS has the highest graduation rate for all school districts in the Denver metro area, and students consistently rank above state and national averages on standardized tests. LPS also offers "The Village 2&Under Program" for children ages six weeks to three years - the first of its kind in Colorado to be affiliated with a public school district.
