Erie Real Estate & Community Information

Erie continues to attract new residents' year-over-year with its expansive mountain views, scenic trails and recreational opportunities. Located 25 minutes from Denver, and 20 minutes from Boulder, Erie's population of 17,500 honors its small town traditions, celebrates a low crime rate and maintains the beauty of its natural surroundings. Erie real estate offers affordable options and ranges from the low $100s to $1 million. The average price for a multi-family home is $183,000 while a single-family home averages a price of $308,450. A majority of Erie homes have been built in the last decade.

Vista Ridge, one of the premier communities in the area, features custom, single-family, condominium and low-maintenance homes with access to five-star resort amenities and beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains. Directly west of I-25 and Highway 7, Vista Ridge is located in close proximity to Denver, Boulder and Longmont. Erie is also located near the E-470 Beltway, Northwest Parkway, making it about 35 miles to Denver International Airport.

Access to numerous housing choices, employment and recreation are key characteristics to the town's high quality of life. IBM, Sun Microsystems and Ball Corporation are the largest employers and six medical facilities, including Heart Center of the Rockies, are nearby.

Year-round recreational programs, activities and special events are available for families, children and seniors at the 63,000-square foot Erie Community Center. Erie Community Park (undergoing construction now) is the newest addition to the town's 346 acres of parks and open space. As an added bonus, Erie is less than an hour away from Rocky Mountain National Park. Numerous golf courses are within 15-minutes, including the community's own Vista Ridge Golf Course. Built in 2002, Vista Ridge is designed 30 percent larger than typical courses, and combines stunning Front Range views over 232-acres.

The Town of Erie also holds numerous community celebrations annually, including the Erie Town Fair and Hot Air Balloon Festival (May); Bark in the Park and World's Shortest Pet Parade (June); and a Concerts in the Park series (July and August) and Erie Oktoberfest (October).

Erie School Information

Students in Erie attend schools in the Boulder Valley School District and the St. Vrain Valley School District. The Boulder Valley School District includes 28,500 students and consistently ranks at the top of Front Range schools according to state and national academic rankings. Voters recently approved $300 million in capitol improvements to each of the 55 schools over the next six years. The St. Vrain Valley School District includes schools specializing in PK-12, and educates 25,491 students.
