Arvada is one of the larger cities in the Metro Denver area with a population of 106,327. Arvada has managed to carve out a niche in the arts community with the 105,000-square foot Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, the largest multi-disciplinary arts and cultural center in the country. The complex features performing arts theaters, outdoor summer concerts, a children's theater, two art galleries, a museum and art education programs. Recreation is abundant in the area with 71 parks, 11 recreation and city centers, and 600 developed, landscaped and improved areas.

Arvada School Information

Children in Arvada attend Jeffco Public Schools, the state's largest school district with more than 84,000 students and 131 neighborhood schools. In 2004, Jeffco invested $67 million in Arvada Schools. Many of Arvada schools are recognized locally and nationally for innovative curriculum. Pomona High School's Arts and Humanities program received the THINK360 Kennedy Center for the Arts Creative School of Excellence award for its dedication to the arts and humanities program. Foster Elementary is the only school in Jefferson County to offer a bilingual immersion program where students learn English and Spanish every day.
